AXA Research Fund: The AXA Research Fund awarded Professor Adam Sobel the AXA Award in Climate and Extreme Weather. Professor Sobel is the first AXA awardee; the AXA Awards have just been created as a new instrument by the AXA Research Fund to spur and accelerate the pace of academic innovation.

Willis Research Network: The Willis Research Network (WRN) is the world’s largest collaboration between public science and the finance sector, with a membership of around fifty leading research institutions. Led and sponsored by Willis, the global risk adviser, insurance and reinsurance broker, the WRN integrates science, insurance/reinsurance and resilience on a scale never before envisaged. Michael Tippett and Adam Sobel are working with Willis scientists on prediction of risks from severe convective weather, including tornadoes and hail.
